The uMngeni Municipality has reported a remarkable surge in visitors during the recent festive season, with hospitality venues fully booked and a significant increase in tour bookings throughout the beautiful KZN Midlands.
Victoria O’Sullivan, chairperson of uMngeni Tourism, reported a bustling season, welcoming an influx of international tourists from countries including Korea, Poland, and New Zealand, alongside a strong contingent of visitors from Durban and Gauteng.
“It’s been so busy for our hospitality industry,” O’Sullivan said. “Our accommodation venues have been fully booked, numerous events have taken place, and restaurants are thriving.”
This positive trend highlights the Midlands’ growing reputation as a premier destination for those seeking a blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and warm hospitality.
